Cute Portable Baby Changer

As inexperienced first-time mum Jennifer asking my advice to buy a separate piece of furniture called a “changing table” to accommodate the baby during diaper changes for going out, I would suggest to use a portable baby changer which is easy to carry and convert any dresser into a changing table by placing a changing pad on its level surface, ensuring baby is always clean dry and happy.. and mum and dad are always prepared!

There are many “expensive” portable baby changers available in the market, but most of them are dull and boring. Why don’t make one by yourself with cute children’s fabric and even waterproof with laminate fabric? Download here for free sewing patterns and tutorials for portable baby changer.

Mother’s Day has just over and that means Father’s Day is coming soon.

I am planning to make a simple but cool matching ties for the men in my life – my Dad, hubby and son and take a family photo. I can imagine it would be funny if I sew with cute fabric .

I can make a matching mini tie necklace with the fabric scraps for myself too.

My kids love hooded towels,  I have always wished I could make them instead of having to buy them. This will be a GREAT idea for birthday gifts with their names’ applique too!

What you need are one large bath towel, one hand towel in matching colors and some double bias tape (tutorial on makeandtakes.com)

Flannel Baby Shoes & Blanket

My friend recently gave birth to her second child who is a boy. She wanted something boyish rather than wearing him in pink from his sister.

I decided to make him a cozy flannel blanket as a present! The remaining fabric will make a pair of matching flannel shoes too.

This type of blanket is extremely easy to make with 2 yards of fabric and double fold bias tape. (Tutorial of sewing bias tape on danamadeit.com)

Echino Laminate Shoulder Bag

Finally, I got a good cause to cut into the new Echino laminate fabric which I ordered from online fabric shop (best place to buy Japanese fabrics with free international shipping) last year to make my friend a shoulder bag for birthday.

The finished pattern will be similar to the shoulder bag on Les Bêtes de Céline, but it is unexpected a little difficult to work with Echino laminate coating as the fabric is a bit “sticky” to pass through the feed-dog of the sewing machine.

Nevertheless, I love the shininess of the Echino laminate fabric!

I would love to redecorate my suitcase with the remaining fabric scraps too!
